An important cabinet meeting is going to be held in Delhi today. In which many big decisions will be taken regarding Delhi EV Policy 2.0 including many issues. According to media reports, under this new policy, the sale of two-wheelers running on petrol and CNG fuel will be stopped in the capital by August 15, 2026. Before this, by August 15, 2025, new registration of three wheelers running on CNG, diesel and petrol in Delhi may also be stopped. Along with this, it will be made mandatory to convert CNG autos older than 10 years into electric autos.

Goodbye To 10 Year Old CNG Autos Too

By 15th August 2025, CNG autos that will be 10 years old will either have to be scrapped or converted to electric. This will also curb old and more polluting vehicles.

The Delhi government is also focusing on strengthening the charging infrastructure. There is a plan to build an EV charging point every 5 kilometers. In total, 13,200 charging stations are planned to be built, which will end the tension of charging.

Buying An Electric Car Will Be Necessary

According to media reports, under Delhi’s new Electric Vehicle Policy 2.0, if any person already has two vehicles running on petrol and diesel, then he can buy the third car only as an electric car. The third car should not be run on petrol or diesel fuel.

Subsidy Will Be Available On Electric Vehicles

Under the new EV Policy 2.0, on purchasing a two-wheeler electric vehicle, the customer can get a subsidy of ₹ 10,000 to ₹ 30,000 from the government. Also, subsidy of up to one and a half lakh rupees will be available on the electric car. Unconditionally, the price of the car should be up to 20 lakhs only.

According to media reports, after the implementation of the new policy, in the first phase, 10 thousand women will get a subsidy of up to ₹ 36,000 on purchasing two-wheeler electric vehicles. After this, a plan can be made to give subsidy of up to Rs 30,000 to all women by 2030.
