Indian car manufacturer Tata has announced the launch of its Sierra SUV. The company is going to launch it in the year 2026. Tata Motors has made a bang entry in Auto Expo 2025 and introduced the production version Sierra EV. According to Tata, this car will first come in electric avatar, after which it will also be launched in ICE version. Tata Sierra Electric SUV will be launched in modern technology and classy design.
The company first showed the Sierra EV as a concept form at Auto Expo 2020. After this, a second concept was shown at Auto Expo 2023, which had a 5-door body instead of the four-door of the 2020 concept. Sierra EV is shown in attractive classy yellow color. This car can come with Advanced Driver Assistance System and Hill Hold Assist. Its front has a vertical shape headlamp with full LED light bar. Small inserts and a faux skid plate are provided on both sides of the front bumper. Apart from these, airbags will be installed both in the driver cabin and at the rear.
Design
The production model of Sierra will have a design almost similar to the concept shown in the last Auto Expo. It is clear from the model seen during testing that no major changes have been made in the styling. The design of the Sierra EV will be slightly different from its ICE version. Especially the EV version will have some special styling elements. The large rear glass of the old Sierra has not been completely retained in the new Sierra, but it has been reintroduced with a new design.
Performance
Two battery packs can be given with the twin electric motor option for the performance of Tata Sierra EV. It is estimated that the larger battery pack of the Sierra EV will be able to give a driving range of more than 500 km on a single charge. It will also have fast charging facility with V2V and V2L support.
Features and Interior
Tata Motors considers Sierra EV to be the company’s most advanced technology car. Many great features will be provided in it. Features like panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, dual zone climate control, level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) will be seen in it. Apart from this, it can also have a dual infotainment display setup to give a better experience to the driver and passengers.
Range
This new SUV has been launched with battery packs of 60kWh capacity. Regarding which the company is claiming that the variant with 60kWh battery pack has the ability to give a range of 500 km in a single charge. Top variant feature single and dual-motor configurations, with options for all-wheel-drive (AWD) and rear-wheel-drive (RWD).
